What can I expect when
adopting a trained foster?
All foster pups trained by SFK9 learn to sit, down, and climb. They are taught proper leash manners as well as entryway etiquette and general household manners. We set a firm foundation for both house and crate training. Our pups are socialized with strangers, children, other dogs, and even cats on a regular basis. They are exposed to real life situations including riding in cars, going to pet stores, busy public streets, hiking in forest preserves, and so much more.
All our trained pups come with complimentary follow up training through SFK9 to ensure each pup sucessfully transitions into their new home and owners can maintain the skills their pups have learned during their time with us.

Where do these dogs come from?
SFK9 works with a variety of rescue contacts, other trainers, veterinary practices, local licensed breeders, and sometimes even private owners in need of placement for pups for various reasons. In all situations, the pups we work with are trained before they are placed in a home. We utilize these situations not only help a pup in need, but also as a hands on learning opportunity for our apprentice program.
